About AEXIS:
ÆXIS is the Security Consultancy Company formed by Dr. Angelika Plate in Spring 1998. Since then, ÆXIS has been involved in many different information security related activities, including consultancy and training for governments, banks, telecoms and other industry. For more detailed information, just contact us.
Some of ÆXIS main business activities relate to ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002 and the other standards in the 27000 series, and their application. Angelika has been involved in the standards body ISO/IEC JTC1 SC 27 "IT Security Techniques" in the Working Group 1 since 1994, the standards group that deals with ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27002 and other ISMS related standards. There, she has successfully completed the work as co-editor of ISO/IEC 27002 and ISO/IEC 27006 in ISO, and is currently editing ISO/IEC 27007 and the revision of ISO/IEC 27001.
She also produced, together with Ted Humphreys from XiSEC, the BSI BIPs (more about these BIPs at the BSI Web site, for BIP 0070 or the indiviual BIPs):
- BIP 0070: A CD containing the standards ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002, the BIPs quoted below, and much more
- BIP 0071: Guidelines on requirements and preparation for ISMS certification based on ISO/IEC 27001
- BIP 0072 – Are you ready for an ISMS Audit based on ISO/IEC 27001?
- BIP 0073 – Guide to the implementation and auditing of ISMS controls based on ISO/IEC 27001
- BIP 0074 – Measuring the effectiveness of your ISMS implementations based on ISO/IEC 27001
ÆXIS has developed an ISMS risk assessment tool called RA2 art of risk. This tool includes the latest versions of the ISMS standards, such as ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002. More information about that is available on the RA 2 art of risk page.
Angelika Plate, the director of ÆXIS, started by studying mathematics and computer science which she finished with a PhD (in bifurcation theory, for all those how are into maths...). Then, Angelika moved on to work in the German Information Security Agency where she gathered a lot of experience in different information and IT security topics. Finally, she decided to form her own company in Spring 1998 - this was the beginning of ÆXIS.
